2 armed men sought in attempted robbery of Prairieville couple

Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies searched on Thursday for two unidentified men suspected of the attempted robbery Wednesday of a Prairieville couple.

Maj. Kevin Hanna, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said two men attempted to break into a residence on Shady Oaks Lane in Prairieville, but fled on foot into an empty field before actually entering the home.

Both of the men were armed, the couple told detectives. One man wearing dark clothing and a makeshift mask with sunglasses was armed with a baseball bat.

The other man was armed with a shotgun and also was wearing dark clothing, Hanna said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at (225) 621-4636, text 847411 to reach the Sheriff’s Office anonymous tip line, or call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).

The homeowners should have left the thugs dead on the ground for the corner's office to give them a ride, then case solved.
