At 10:22 p.m., Danny Boudreaux, 45, was traveling south on La. 347 in his 1997 Chevrolet Corvette when he ran off the road to the left in an area of the road with a slight left curve, said Trooper 1st Class Stephen Hammons of Troop I. Boudreaux was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car, but his passenger, Tammy Boudreaux, 44, was wearing a seat belt, Hammons said. The St. Martin Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced both people dead at the scene, Hammons said. Troopers are unsure if impairment played a role in the accident and submitted a toxicology sample to the State Police Crime Lab in Baton Rouge for analysis, Hammons said.
