BR man, 32, arrested in rape at apartment

Baton Rouge police on Thursday night arrested a 32-year-old Baton Rouge man who agreed to bring a drunken female home from a bar, but instead took her to his apartment, where he allegedly raped her.

When the victim woke up in Wyatt Watts’ bed, he told her that they had sex and “she was asking for it,” an affidavit warrant shows.

She left his apartment and went to a hospital, where she told police she blacked out and did not remember anything, the warrant says.

Watts told police the victim was “smashed” and at first she passed out on the floor, but later climbed into his bed, the warrant says.

Police booked Watts, 550 Lee Drive, Apt. 166, into Parish Prison on one count of simple rape, prison records.

@tradewinns - These types of cases, where they didn't take place in a back alley and the woman was beat to hell, have to do with consent; specifically, voluntary consent. Analogously, if you and I were out drinking and you became intoxicated to the point of having been passed out, and I coaxed you into giving me your debit card and PIN number and you woke up the next morning with no money left, would you be alright if I told you, "Sorry dude, but you gave it to me." Mr. Watts should've been man enough to put her to bed and leave her alone and make her breakfast in the morning... he probably would've gotten sex then for being such a gentleman.

"When the victim woke up in Wyatt Watts’ bed, he told her that they had sex......" and she doesn't remember, so it's rape? only those two (and one doesn't remember) know the truth. the rest of us has to look at any evidence and make a decision. so what evidence is there of rape, not sex but rape? the article doesn't mention any. i don't know either way but unless there some strong evidence of raspe this guy is being slandered in the press.
