BRPD: Man shot, killed on Hooper Road

A 33-year-old man was shot and killed in the 4600 block of Hooper Road early Sunday, a Baton Rouge police spokesman said.

A group of people were arguing in the road around 4 a.m. when the man was shot, Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said in a news release.

Police are not quite sure what the argument was about but believe the group had been involved in a fight earlier in the night, McKneely said.

The victim died at the scene, McKneely said. His name has not been released because police are still trying to notify family members of his death.
