Man accused of putting woman in hospital

A Breaux Bridge man was arrested Thursday on a count of attempted second-degree murder in a Sunday incident on Johnson Road, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

Terry Paul Rebert Sr., 31, allegedly hit his live-in girlfriend with a weapon, injuring her to the point where she was checked into the intensive care unit at a hospital, a news release says.

Rebert was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the attempted second-degree murder charge and also on a domestic abuse count from an incident that allegedly occurred “several months” earlier, the release says.

Rebert is being held on $250,000 bail, the release says.
