Lonnie M. Fortner, 39, of 122 Ideal St., Paincourtville, was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on five counts each of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, Sheriff Mike Waguespack said in a news release. A registered sex offender, Fortner served five years in prison after being convicted in 2003 of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and pornography involving a juvenile, Waguespack said. The juvenile victim’s father filed a complaint last month alleging that his daughter was in a sexual relationship with Fortner. Detectives learned the two met through a mutual friend, the sheriff said. The victim told authorities that Fortner came up with the idea of explaining her absences from home by having her tell her father she was tutoring children at a church. Instead, Fortner and the juvenile were meeting in Paincourtville during a period of several months. The girl told authorities that Fortner bought her an iPhone, clothing, jewelry and paid for beauty salon visits, and admitted they had sex on five occasions in Assumption Parish, Waguespack said.
