Zachary drug investigation results in four arrests

Officers with the Delta Narcotics Task Force concluded a three-month investigation of alleged drug-dealing at two Avenue G residences with arrests at both houses Thursday, Police Chief David McDavid said.

After the drug raids, Zachary police arrested two people accused of burglarizing one of the houses, McDavid said.

Officers found marijuana, 18 doses of the painkiller Lortab and cash at 4735 Avenue G and arrested Tyrus “TC” Johnson, 25, of the same address, on counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and illegal possession of Lortab, McDavid said.

At 4779 Avenue G, officers found both crack cocaine and powdered cocaine, along with a pistol and cash, McDavid said.

They booked Roger “Roger Rabbit” Hill, 53, of the same address, at East Baton Rouge Parish Prison with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm with drugs, the police chief said.

Police returned to Hill’s residence after getting a report that it was being burglarized, and they arrested two people, Lacrisha McKenzie, 26, 4873 Clayton St., Baton Rouge, and Mary Johnson, 23, 4795 Avenue G, McDavid said.

McKenzie was booked with simple burglary, illegal possession of stolen property and possession of a “legend drug” without a prescription, McDavid said. Johnson was booked with simple burglary, the police chief said.

Yea thats right, ignore ALL drugs and just let people do whatever they want. Just because you dont live in the "ghetto" doesnt mean you dont have anything to worry about. There are plenty of white kids living in gated communities hooked on drugs. Keep up your ignorant way of thinking, I hope your kids never have to live in the real world.

@Woody, that would explain a lot of posters that comment regularly. Fine people, there, CitizensArrest and brhope. "Officers found both marijuana, crack cocaine and powdered cocaine, along with a pistol and cash". They didn't say how much, They were also accused of burglarizing. All you saw was the drugs that you considered no big deal and did not consider the rest of the story.

an apparent love and desire for drugs does help explain most comments on this forum by a certain poster

Zachary PD making them HUGE busts! Good to know that now there are 18 less pills off the streets. Maybe if we let them go 6 months they would have found 25 pills

They found grass and 18 lortabs? Wonder why this wasn;t national news in this never ending war? Zachary Police won a huge battle here...and it only took three months. I would bet they get more than that in a routine traffic stop every freaking day.

I don't live in the ghetto. My children are surrounded by other children of similar upbringing and values. This money is better spent elsewhere. We will never win the "War on Drugs"...but it's cute that you think we have a chance.

CitizensArrest, that's what they are trying to do. Do you know any fine upstanding crack heads or drug dealers? Do you want them for neighbors? Introduce them to your kids or grand kids.

Talk about a waste of money? Three months and some arrests that will end up misdemeanors? Enough with the "war on drugs"...we lost. Stop spending my money on this trash and clean up the ghettos.
