Police arrest man in apartment stabbing

Baton Rouge police Sunday night arrested a 30-year-old man accused of stabbing a 24-year-old man at an apartment on Convention Street, police said Monday.

Derek Prince, 1410 Convention St., was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of attempted second-degree murder, police spokesman Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said.

Prince and the 24-year-old victim began arguing at an apartment in the 1400 block of Convention Street, Stubbs said.

Prince pulled out a knife and allegedly stabbed the victim several times in the upper torso and near his face, Stubbs said.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive, Stubbs said.

champagne is a fitting name for someone who obviously has a drinking problem.

I believe Mr. Prince is one of the mental patients that are just loose on the streets because of budget cuts to mental health. I work downtown and there are a lot of them living on Convention Street near St. Paul DeVincent. They are just walking the streets as loose cannons.

Prince glad we won't have to look at your azz for many years. See ya later, oh and let us know 8 or 9 years from now if it was all worth it. Bye Bye!
