Police book man
in girlfriend’s death
Baton Rouge police arrested a man Monday in the stabbing death of his 30-year-old girlfriend following an argument in her Jackson Avenue home.
Police were called to Shalonda Green’s home after 1 a.m. and had to chase Mark Turner, police Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said in a news release.
Police caught Turner and saw he was covered in blood and had cuts on his hands, arms and abdomen, Stubbs said.
Turner, 48, 3060 N. Acadian East Thruway, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of second-degree murder, Stubbs said.

Authorities arrested at least one person suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked her into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday, booking records show.
Hollie Firmin, 20, 14853 Joor Road, Zachary, was booked on one count each of first-offense DWI, failure to obey a stop sign or yield sign, possession with intention to distribute schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
