Seven teens booked
with armed robbery

Sheriff’s deputies arrested seven teenagers Sunday accused in the beating and robbery of two children on Rush Avenue in Gardere, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

The victims, a 10-year-old and a 13-year-old, told deputies they were attacked by seven boys and one girl around 2:15 p.m. at 8501 Rush Ave., Casey Rayborn Hicks said.

Some of the boys struck the 10-year-old and held him down while another one went through his pockets, stealing his money and cellphone, Hicks said.

The girl pulled out a knife and threatened both victims, Hicks said.

The 13-year-old fought several of the attackers but couldn’t stop them, Hicks said.

The attackers ran away after the robbery, Hicks said.

Deputies later found six boys and one girl while patrolling the area and took them into custody, Hicks said.

The teens, all of whom are either 14 or 15 years old, were booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on counts of armed robbery.

they sound as if they are on the road to a life behind bars with brief periods out distressing law abiding citizens. is it possible that, instead of treating them as guest of the state in a juvenile center, they were introduced to true hard physical labor 14 hours a day 365 days a year for whatever sentence they receive (if any-whole nuther story), they possibly could decide to try another path? we know for a fact the current path in juvenile and adult criminal "punishment/rehabilitation" system isn't working. as long as crime is perceived to be more profitable than the punishment is feared, crime will prosper.

Well, starting their lives off on a good note. Bets on these kids ever becoming an actual productive member of society? Or just in prison on and off until they are killed?

14, 15 y.o.'s know right from wrong. pulling the knife takes it to armed robbery. treat them accordingly. also find the parents of these kids and where appropriate arrest them for child endangerment, child neglect, whatever fits the bill and put their bottoms in jail for the max. perhaps a few examples may save a bunch of kids not yet gone bad, like these kids.
