Duck-hunting juvenile shot in head

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the head and wounded early Saturday in a duck-hunting accident in Livonia, the Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s Office said.

The boy, whose name was not released, suffered a serious head injury after he was shot with a 12-gauge shotgun, Capt. Steve Juge said.

The teenager was one of three boys in a boat in Grosse Tete Bayou, Juge said. One of the other hunters, also 15, swung to shoot at a duck but shot the victim instead, Juge said.

The wounded boy was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Juge said.

don't you have to be 18 to buy a gun? why are 15 year olds out hunting with shotguns alone? article has no mention of an adult present? 15 year olds are still children. you can't seriously trust them with shotguns alone.
