Lawrence Duncan went to different scrapyards in Port Allen and Baton Rouge on Friday telling workers he had some home improvement items, including electrical wiring and a bathtub, stolen from his home, Sheriff’s Office Col. Richie Johnson said. Duncan asked the workers to notify him if any of the items were dropped off at their yards, Johnson said. Sometime Monday, a scrapyard in Port Allen called Duncan and said Hollis Clark, 22, and Noel Ranson, 47, had just dropped off items similar to what he had described, Johnson said. The scrapyard workers stalled Clark and Ranson long enough for Duncan to arrive and confirm the items were his, Johnson said. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Clark, 3965 Alliquippa St., and Ranson, 2915 70th Ave., and booked them into the West Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count each of illegal possession of stolen things.
