Broussard police
seek missing woman

Police launched a missing persons investigation Friday to locate Paulette Thibodeaux, 45, who was last seen Nov. 7 by her friends and family, Broussard Police Chief Brannon Decou said.

Police began a search for Thibodeaux on Friday afternoon after the woman’s roommate notified police that she had not been seen since the night of Nov. 7, Decou said in a news release.

Decou said Monday that there is no evidence of foul play. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.

Decou said Thibodeaux is a white woman with medium-length brown wavy hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a red T-shirt with an emblem on the front.

Rayne woman, 20, dies in highway crash

Alyssa Gibson, 20, of Rayne, died Saturday in a single-car crash on U.S. 167 north of Abbeville, State Trooper Stephen Hammons said in a news release.

Gibson was driving north on the highway at 10:05 p.m. when her car left the right side of the road, struck a ditch and then a tree, Hammons said.

Gibson was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car, he said

The crash is under investigation.
