Gonzales police hunt shooting fugitive

Gonzales police searched on Thursday for an 18-year-old fugitive wanted in a Halloween shooting.

Damond Williams, 18, 501 E. Sanders St., Gonzales, is a suspect in a shooting on East Worthey Road, Sgt. Steven Nethken with the Gonzales Police Department said Thursday in a news release. Police were asking anyone with knowledge about Williams’ whereabouts to contact the department at (225) 647-7511.

Investigators were called to the parking lot of Mike’s Po Boys, located at East Worthey Road and Nickens Street, on Oct. 31 after shots had been fired in the area.

Williams faces prosecution on counts of being a principal to attempted second-degree murder and discharging a weapon within city limits, Nethken said.
