Garbage truck, school bus collide in Monroe

PATTERSON — A garbage truck rear-ended a school bus Wednesday on La. 182 in Patterson, but no major injuries were reported, said State Police spokesman Trooper Stephen Hammons.

The bus had just dropped off a child when the garbage truck struck it from the rear at 3:30 p.m., Hammons said.

Hammons was not certain how many students were on the bus but characterized the worst of the injuries as moderate.
