Authorities seek suspect in shooting death

The Lafayette Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force are seeking information on the whereabouts of Carl. J. Phillips, who is wanted on one count of second-degree murder.

The shooting occurred July 28 in the 600 block of Goldman Street in Lafayette where Phillips, 32, is accused of shooting a 20-year-old Baton Rouge man in the chest. He left in a gold-colored vehicle, according to a news release.

The victim, identified as John Joseph Dean, later died from his wounds, the release said.

Phillips is considered to be armed and dangerous.

police should review again and again "armed and dangerious" part and take NO chances in his arrest.
