BRPD: Feud leads to retaliation shooting

A double shooting late Tuesday night on Convention and North 13th streets stemmed from a deadly shooting earlier that day, police said Wednesday.

Carlois Lebouf, 28, 2025 Hemlock St., was killed while another man was wounded after 9 p.m. Tuesday near Convention and 100 N. 13th St., police Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said.

Earlier that morning, Otis D. Kinchen, 36, 635 N. 11th St., was shot and killed while standing in a vacant lot at Convention and North 12th streets.

People associated with Kinchen, including Lebouf and the other man shot Tuesday evening, feuded throughout the day Tuesday with people they believe shot Kinchen, McKneely said.

The feud led to the shooting of Lebouf and the other man, who has not been identified, McKneely said.

Police have not made any arrests or named any suspects, McKneely said.

Anyone with information about this incident can contact police at (225) 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.

And that conclusion would be gang violence in Baton Rouge. I'm okay with them killing each other, but innocent bystanders are bound to get hurt. BR is going to hell in a hand basket. Since the current city/parish government doesn't seem to be willing or able to fix the problem, its time to vote those monkeys out!
