Police investigating apartment shooting
Police said they are investigating a shooting Tuesday night at a Tigerland Avenue apartment complex that left one man in critical condition.
Officers found a man at the Chateau du Cour Apartments, 4707 Tigerland Ave., about 10:30 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the head, Capt. Elton Brown said in a news release.
The victim was listed in critical condition Wednesday evening, police spokesman Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said.
Apartment complex manager Brina Jones said he was about to go to sleep in his apartment across the courtyard when he heard gunshots.
Jones said he rushed over to the apartment, where he saw a body on the floor. He said he saw a bullet wound just above the man’s eyes.
“They didn’t mean for him to live,” Jones said.
Jones said the victim was moving into the apartment and Jones had only talked to him a few times.

Shootout wounds 3; Walker man arrested
A Livingston Parish man called 911 to turn himself in after shooting and wounding three people in a local business Monday, police said.
Police spokesman Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said Billy Hoover, 45, of Walker, entered a business at 11690 Florida Blvd., in an “irate, aggressive manner.”
One of the victims approached Hoover to calm him down, but their conversation escalated into a fight, Stubbs said.
Eventually, a witness helped the victim force Hoover out of the business and lock the doors.
Hoover and the victim armed themselves and engaged in a shootout, Stubbs said.
During the shootout, the victim suffered a nonlife-threatening wound to the abdomen, Stubbs said.
Another person was hit in the foot and a third was hit in the leg, the affidavit said.
Hoover, 33939 Nancy Drive, Walker, was booked into Parish Prison on three counts of attempted first degree murder and illegal use of a weapon, booking records show.
