I-10 in Lafayette reopens after crashes prompt closing

LAFAYETTE — Interstate 10 eastbound through Lafayette reopened about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday after being briefly closed while officers worked two crashes between North University Avenue and the Interstate 49 interchange, Lafayette Police said.
The first crash, involving two vehicles, was reported about 12:30 p.m., followed closely by the second crash, involving a tractor-trailer and three vehicles, police said.
One moderate injury was reported.
The crashes remain under investigation, police said.
