More suspects jailed
in kidnap-robbery
Police reported arresting two men Wednesday in the kidnapping of another man, who was forced at gunpoint to withdrawing money from an automated teller machine. A third man was arrested in the incident earlier this week.
According to an arrest warrant, Jonathan Batteau, 22, and Trey Payne, 20, approached the victim about 4 a.m. Tuesday on Boyd Drive near Highland Road.
Batteau pointed a shotgun at the victim while Payne hit the man in the head and took his wallet, the warrant says.
Batteau and Payne then forced the man to drive to an ATM and withdraw money, the warrant says.
The men then made the victim drive back to the residence on East Boyd Drive, which they burglarized, the warrant says. Batteau fled in the victim’s vehicle while Payne and Raeven Duncan, 19, fled in another vehicle, the warrant says.
Batteau, 3422 Conrad St., was arrested Tuesday and booked into Parish Prison on one count each of armed robbery and aggravated kidnapping. Duncan, 4588 N. Sarasota Drive, and Payne, 17253 Deer Lake Ave., were booked Wednesday on the same counts.
