BR police: Man shot to death

Baton Rouge police are investigating a fatal shooting late Friday in the 4200 block of Mohican-Prescott Crossover.

Police found a man’s body behind an apartment complex, police spokesman Capt. Elton Brown said. The victim was shot at least once, he said.

The complex has about 30 units and is near Delaware Street, Prescott Road, Beechwood Drive and Mohican Street in the 70805 ZIP code.

Debora Harris, 49, who has lived in the complex for nine years, said she was surprised to have heard the gunshots. She said the landlord “has been trying to clean it up here” and recalled that the last killing there occurred about five years ago.
