Killer sought in shooting of Lafayette man
LAFAYETTE — Investigators continued searching for leads Monday in a Friday evening fatal shooting in the 200 block of Marigny Circle, according to a news release from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Ray Ryan, 43, of Lafayette, was pronounced dead at the scene after deputies responded to a report of gunfire about 9:30 p.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kip Judice said the investigation is ongoing but it appears that Ryan “was in the middle of two guys who were firing” at each other.
It is still unclear if Ryan was involved in the dispute or if he was a bystander caught in the crossfire, Judice said.
“We don’t know his role in it at all,” Judice said.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Lafayette Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-8477.
