Woman, 36, dies in wreck near Greensburg
A woman who wasn’t wearing a seat belt and is suspected of being impaired died about 2 a.m. Sunday when she drove her pickup off a road and crashed into several large trees, State Police said.
April Rock, 36, Pine Grove, was pronounced dead at the scene on La. 1042 in St. Helena Parish, about one-and-a-half miles west of Greensburg, Trooper First Class Nick Manale said in a news release.
Rock was eastbound on La. 1042 in a 1996 Ford F-250, Manale’s release says. Rock veered off the road to the right, overcorrected, then bolted across both lanes of traffic before shooting off the north side of the highway into trees.
Troopers took a blood sample for toxicology analysis at the State Police Crime Lab, the release said.
