Man shot in parked car on Saturday dies
A 23-year-old man shot in the head Saturday while sitting in a vehicle on Oaklan Drive died Tuesday after being taken off life support, police said.
Danjae Parker, 4812 Monarch Ave., was sitting in the passenger seat of a car near Oaklan and Beechwood Drive shortly after 10 p.m. when he was shot in the head, police have said.
Parker died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said in a news release.
The driver of the vehicle was shot in the upper body, but the injury was not fatal, McKneely said.

Firefighters probing suspected arson
Firefighters are investigating a suspected arson Tuesday that damaged the back of a home in the 2500 block of Laurel Street, the Fire Department said.
Firefighters arrived at 2543 Laurel at 4:25 a.m., Fire Department spokesman Barry Mounce said in a news release.
The blaze started in the rear of the home and damaged the back porch, Mounce said. The fire extended into a washroom before being brought under control, he said.
