Gonzales police searching for bank robber

Gonzales police are seeking this man in connection with the Monday robbery of the American Gateway Bank on La. 30. The suspect was described as being average height with a thin build and wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, black hat and sunglasses.

GONZALES — City police are looking for a bank robber who passed a note to a teller Monday demanding cash and threatening bodily harm to the teller, officers said Thursday.

The man entered the lobby of American Gateway Bank, 1821 W. La. 30, Gonzales, about 4:44 p.m. Monday and presented the note, police said in a news release Wednesday.

The man was given an undisclosed amount of cash and he left the bank running toward the Interstate 10 interchange with La. 30, which is exit 177, police said.

The man is described as white, with average height and thin build.

He was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt, black hat and sunglasses, police said.
