Truck hits, injures
Scott student, 11
SCOTT — An 11-year-old Scott boy survived an accident in which he was struck by a truck and dragged about 12 feet on Cameron Street before escaping Wednesday morning, Scott police said in a news release.
The incident occurred at 7:29 a.m. at 5725 Cameron Street, the release said.
The boy, a Scott Middle School student, was struck by a grey Chevrolet Silverado while attempting to cross Cameron Street, the release said.
The truck, driven by Mark Turner, struck the boy on his left leg and pulled him under the front bumper of the vehicle , the release said.
The boy suffered scrapes to his knees and portions of his back, the release said.
The driver and several witnesses said the boy was not aware of the traffic flow from all directions, the release said.

on skeletal remains
RAYNE — The skeletal remains found on Zaunbrecher Road near Rayne in November are believed to be that of a black man between the ages of 25 and 35 years old, the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Wednesday.
The victim had been dead about six to 18 months and had a broken rib, the release said.
The man’s DNA information will be added to the Louisiana Repository for Missing and Unidentified Persons Information, the release said.
