LSU restroom incident leads to obscenity arrest

A Denham Springs man arrested Friday is accused of attempting a sex act in an LSU restroom while another person was trying to use the adjacent stall.

The victim told LSU police officers he was in the first floor men’s restroom in Tureaud Hall when the man in the next stall exposed himself through a hole in the stall wall and told him he wanted to have oral sex, according to the police report.

The victim, who is not an LSU student, shot a video of the incident and showed it to detectives, the report says.

Detectives found Michael Cupit, 60, 10535 Wade Drive, in the restroom and arrested him, the report says.

Cupit later confirmed the victim’s story to investigators.

The report says Cupit admitted to detectives he was banned in 2011 from the building for similar behavior and should not have been there.

Cupit was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of obscenity.
