Jun 23, 2014 19:36 Big win for La. tourism Big win for La. tourism Advocate story June 23, 2014 Comments The great state of Nevada was beautifully represented by Nia Sanchez when she was crowed Miss USA 2014 in a nationally televised pageant, and she will go on to represent her country in the Miss Universe competition. We congratulate her and hope she will have fond memories of the pageant city, Baton Rouge, which went all out as host for the annual event. With flattering coverage of Baton Rouge and a host of positive testimonials from contestants and the organizers of the event, the pageant represented a tourism victory for the state’s capital. The broadcast is another positive reflection of Louisiana. We doubt that the state’s top tourism official, Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne, and Mayor-President Kip Holden can be anything less than pleased with such a successful event. We commend all involved for rolling out a red carpet for the Miss USA organization as well as its beautiful contestants.
