Letters: Legislators should consider safety effects of law changes

As I was reading the morning paper to see what fantastic legislative actions our elected officials have achieved, I settled on these two bills. It appears that is will be OK to drive through a school zone while using your cell phone, and it will also be OK to take your gun into bars and restaurants that serve alcoholic beverages. This is just what we need: no requirement to be alert for children in school zones. No requirement to go to the parking lot to get your gun after you and your friends have an argument after you have had a little to much to drink. I think they should also approve marijuana, as it appears that they are already smoking it. Are you guys for real?
