Letter: Juror exemplifies citizenship

In my recent jury trial, one of my juror’s uncles died overnight. Even so, the juror came to the courthouse ready to continue his civic duty. I released him to allow him to gather in grief with his family. This reconfirms my tremendous respect for our citizens and their commitment to service. Mr. Darrel Scott, please accept the condolences and prayers of myself, my family, your fellow jurors, and the entire East Baton Rouge Parish community on the passing of your beloved uncle. You are a man of character. I will never forget your commitment to your community and your service. Thank you.
