Letter: Funeral photo doesn’t belong on front page

Let me begin by saying that I appreciate Mickey Easterling for her civic commitment to New Orleans, and from the write-up in the paper, it seems she certainly knew how to entertain!

However, Ms. Easterling’s funeral coverage belonged on the society page. This is where we would have seen her in the past.

With all the noteworthy and important news happening in our city, state and world, did this really need to be on the front page?

I was shocked to see this picture. Why must the media stoop to such as this instead of aspiring to elegance?
