Being prone to one of the symptoms of old age, “short attention span,” I frequently skim/skip-read articles in the paper.
While employing this approach, I skipped down to “he stifles dissent by marginalizing those with whom he disagrees” in a recent “Our Views” editorial.
Since I’m on the conservative side, my immediate thought was “Aha, they’re finally criticizing President Barack Obama or U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for using Saul Alinsky’s tactics.” Imagine my surprise when the subject was actually Gov. Bobby Jindal.
Looking on the bright side, it’s a lesson from the masters, which may bode well for us in future confrontations/elections.
