A recent issue of The Advocate lays out a bare-bones explanation of how Obamacare insurance coverage will work, along with examples of insurance costs. Nice job.
Now, I’d like to ask your reporters if it’s possible to obtain the following information: How will the federal tax credits and subsidies be paid for? Is there any chance that folks who do not qualify for tax credits or subsidies will see their income taxes rise to help pay for all of this?
(By the way, I read the article twice and I see nothing in it about federal subsidies as a means for low-income people to buy insurance. The Advocate only mentions tax credits. There’s an important difference between the two. It would be nice if your paper would explain that difference to its readers).
I would love to see The Advocate address the above questions/issues. I’m sure that those people that will have to pay full freight for their insurance coverage are also worried about their federal income taxes possibly rising in order to help fund Obamacare. Thank you.
