Letter: Hill’s act not deserving of second chance Letter: Hill’s act not deserving of second chance Advocate story July 23, 2013 Comments As an LSU alum, I am truly disgusted when an LSU ambassador, in this case a football player, sucker-punches a civilian. The video released by the DA’s office regarding the assault by Jeremy Hill shows a true act of cowardice. Look for Hill’s video to be featured across the nation on social media. The LSU shirt he is wearing is especially prominent. Spare me the excuse that the offender is simply an immature 18- or 19-year-old teenager. I am grateful for too many 18- and 19-year-old men and women who proudly wear the uniform of the United States armed forces while defending our freedom around the world. In cases like these, Les Miles should have a higher standard than letting the courts decide a reprobate player’s fate at LSU. Next time, Les should immediately and permanently remove the jersey. Let the courts decide if an orange jumpsuit replaces it. Lee Mikell professional fundraiser Charleston, S.C.
