We welcome this weekend’s arrival of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, which continues next weekend at the New Orleans Fair Grounds Race Course. We’re also delighted that Lafayette is once again hosting its Festival Internationale de Louisiane this weekend, too.
Any state would be proud to have just one of these world-class musical festivals. The presence of both Jazz Fest and Festival Internationale in south Louisiana is a testament to this state’s rich musical heritage — and a reminder of why living here is so special.
We’re happy, too, about the thousands of visitors that these festivals attract. That means significant tourist dollars for the region and good word-of-mouth across the country about the state’s attributes.
We salute the organizers of Jazz Fest and Festival Internationale.
Let the good times roll.
