Politics shouldn’t just be a spectator sport, since public policy works best when the public gets involved. That’s why we welcome the publication of the Public Affairs Research Council’s “2013 Guide to the 2013 Louisiana Legislature.” The PAR guide is a useful, pocket-sized booklet filled with key information about Louisiana’s elected officials and state agencies.
The guide includes biographical information, committee assignments, photographs and contact information for Louisiana’s legislators, statewide elected officials and congressional delegation. The guide also includes sources of income from personal finance disclosures filed by legislators.
The guide is printed on an annual basis with updated information published as needed on PAR’s website, http//www.parlouisiana.org. PAR members receive a free copy of the printed Guide to the 2013 Louisiana Legislature. Others may order copies for $10 each plus tax and shipping, with substantial price breaks available for large orders.
Orders can be placed online at http//www.parlouisiana.org or by mailing a completed order form to PAR at P.O. Box 14776, Baton Rouge, LA 70898-4776.
Forms can also be faxed to (225) 926-8417.
We encourage voters to pick up a copy of the guide and stay informed about state government.
