Even so, we’re happy that the Louisiana State Police has been selected by the North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors as America’s best-dressed state agency. “As an agency, it is always nice to receive positive recognition and we are thankful to NAUMD for this award,’ said Col. Mike Edmonson, State Police superintendent. The iconic blue uniform and broad-brimmed hat have been a visible symbol of authority and assistance on Louisiana’s roadways since 1973, when the current uniform was adopted. The sharp attire of Louisiana’s state troopers expresses a useful sense of standards for the state’s most-elite law enforcement agency. This new award isn’t earth-shaking, but it’s a nice reminder of the role that uniforms can play in promoting an agency’s team ethic and sense of mission.
