Letter: We are what is wrong with America

Mother Teresa was once asked what is wrong with the church today. She replied, “You and I are the church; we are what is wrong with the church.” Our society has chosen to turn our backs on God. Instead of asking for forgiveness for our sins, we ask society to not only accept them but to make laws that embellish them. Our forefathers gave us the gift of a government to withstand the test of time. There is no doubt this government was devised with God in mind.

We are turning away from this basic approach. We turn our backs to God when moral issues are decided and conform to the sinner’s request. To paraphrase Mother Teresa: What is wrong with America? You and I are America; we are what is wrong with America.
