Letter: We’re proud of basketball Tigers

Being a huge LSU Tiger fan for decades, I watched the NIT Selection Show Sunday night, hoping and feeling pretty sure that our LSU Tiger basketball team would be selected to play in the NIT Tournament.

My family and I have followed this team, Johnny Jones’ first team as head coach, with ardent support and cheers at every game. We were so disappointed that this special team and coach did not make the cut this year ... but I can honesty say that we are not at all disappointed in this year’s team. They have played with such passion every minute of every game and have brought the fans back to the PMAC to support this team, passionate support that I haven’t seen in years.

Yes, if LSU had been selected for this year’s tournament and hosted the first round, I firmly believe the PMAC would have been full of fans up to the rafters.

Hold your heads up high, Tigers. You gave it your all and we are all so proud of you, thanks to Johnny. Our fans will continue to back him and his future teams with enthusiasm and passion. Johnny has brought the magic back. I can’t wait for next year!
