Letter: Long walks at Woman’s Hospital

Just a quick question: Why is the parking situation so horrific at the new Woman’s Hospital?

Elderly visitors, not to mention highly pregnant mothers-to-be (especially those also with toddlers in tow), now have an impossibly long walk from their vehicle to the hospital itself. What happened to the parking garage attached to the hospital concept?

Not all of us have someone who can “chaffeur” us to the doorstep and then “valet” park our car to pick us up later!

This is troubling. My understanding from some of the employees at Womens a couple years ago was that the main reason they were moving was lack of adequate parking at the old building. People do not want to ride shuttles and they cannot use public transportation in Baton Rouge for urgent medical issues.
