Letter: Have we got a general for you

I’m amazed that the leaders from New York, New Jersey, etc. who have been affected by the storms have not consulted with retired Gen. Russell Honore. Remember, this was the leader who put New Orleans back on track.

I guess, to use one of the general’s quotes, “Don’t get stuck on stupid.”

He was on TV last night talking about cosidering a run for Governor...I guess he figures that if a half black pol with no experience in running so much as a lemonade stand, never holding a real job, and doing a second rate job as a Senator for less than one term can get elected president, he himself has most of the same quals...save for the job he did in N O...but the question should be: What have you done lately/"

I never understood why MG Honore has been elevated to god-like status.

You forget that he took over a situation where Mayor Nagin, President Bush, Governor Blanco and FEMA director Michael Brown had been in charge. It's hard not to look good when you follow any one in that lineup. To follow all of them, as a group, is a recipe to be nominated for sainthood.
