Letter: Alcohol privilege not worth the risks

Aren’t there enough people being killed by drunken drivers and those impaired by alcohol who cause fatal disturbances at home, parties, bars and in communities at large?

If your answer is yes, then why would anyone want to even consider extending hours for the sale of alcohol? This convenience and opportunity will be given to people who could possibly hurt others or break laws and make places unsafe to travel and live?

And in regards to having alcohol at BREC golf courses, let’s be real. There are children who reside in some of these golf-course communities, and they play at the parks and along the streets.

This privilege is not worth the risk.

Gwendolyn, I got bad news for you....golfers already drink beer while golfing. Have you ever tried to play golf not drunk? It's boring.

Gwendolyn, do you really think "Blue Laws" really address your concerns?

I don't drink in bars or on golf courses, but I do drink. No law determines how much or what time I have a drink in my home or with friends. Whatever the law is, it should not be determined by religious beliefs.
