Letter: Online education getting bigger at LSU

In his “Interest in online courses growing,” Koran Addo neglected to note that the School of Library and Information Science has been a leader in distance and online education at LSU.

We began replacing our compressed video courses with online courses in 2007 and began offering the first fully online degree at LSU — the master’s degree in library and information science — two years ago.

The vast majority of our students take at least some of their courses online, and the number of fully online students, both from within Louisiana and out of state, is growing every semester. Interested individuals can find out more at http://www.slis.lsu.edu.
