Reader's Views: Give applause to LSU scholarship
I was flabbergasted to read the top of The Advocate on Dec. 2, that an LSU scientist was going to Sweden.
This is the first time in a very long time that an LSU teacher has made the front page. The football team makes it almost every week.
While I think football is fine for school spirit, we also need news about what is going on in teaching.
According to The Advocate, very little is going on in the teaching area. I am counting inches of newspaper space. Teachers like applause as much as football players.
If you want to build LSU as a “high ranking” school, it will have to be in the teaching area.
By the way, what is the ranking of the Harvard and Yale football teams?
