Teenager reports rape on school bus

New Orleans police detectives are investigating a rape reported on a school bus in eastern New Orleans on Wednesday afternoon.

Officer Garry Flot, a police spokesman, said a 16-year-old girl reported that she and the unidentified suspect were the last two passengers on the school bus in the 4300 block of Almonaster Road around 2:21 p.m. Monday. She told police the boy approached her and raped her before getting off the bus at his stop.

Police said the girl did not report the incident to the bus driver but did report it to a school counselor on Wednesday. Police have identified the boy in question and are investigating the incident, Flot said.

Police say man tried to rob ex-girlfriend

Police aresearching for a 26-year-old man they said kicked in his ex-girlfriend’s front door and tried to rob her.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Eric Bourgeois, according to a police report. Police are searching for Bourgeois who they said kicked in a door in the 3600 block of Dante Street at around 10:14 p.m. Wednesday.

The 26-year-old victim armed herself with a knife, but Bourgeois took it from her and then tried to rob her, police said. She didn’t have any cash, the report said, and he fled.

Armed robbery
reported in Marigny

Police are investigating another armed robbery involving a shotgun in the Marigny shortly after they announced the arrest of a teenager they claim was involved in three similar crimes.

According to a police report, a man and woman reported they were robbed Wednesday around 12:57 p.m. in the 800 block of Frenchmen Street. The victims said an unknown man walked up to them with the shotgun, demanded money and then fled with their property.

The robbery came after police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old boy for three separate armed robberies starting on April 26.

One of those incidents was captured on camera and allegedly showed the boy having his shotgun taken from him by a victim. Police did not release any additional information on Wednesday’s robbery.

Police identify man killed in shooting

A 36-year-old man found gunned down at an Uptown intersection was identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office on Thursday.

Ruben Brown was identified by John Gagliano, the chief investigator for the Coroner’s Office.

Brown was found dead on a sidewalk near the intersection of Amelia Street and Magnolia Street around 6:15 with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.

Domestic argument results in stabbing

Police are searching for a man authorities said stabbed his girlfriend with a screwdriver after they argued Thursday morning.

According to a police report, Shawn Fisher, 47, stabbed his 45-year-old girlfriend multiple times at a home in the 1600 block of Gov. Nicholls Street shortly before 3 a.m.

Police said the stabbing happened after an argument between the couple.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment while Fisher fled the scene, the report states.
