NEW ORLEANS — Costco will hold an information session Wednesday night to discuss employment opportunities at its store under construction on South Carrollton Avenue.
The meeting, hosted by the city’s Office of Economic Development and the JOB1 program, will take place at 6 p.m. in the McCaffrey Ballroom on the third floor of the Xavier University Center, 4980 Dixon St.
Costco is building a new wholesale warehouse store on the site of the former Carrollton Shopping Center. It will create 75 full-time and 75 part-time jobs once it opens in mid August.
JOB1 will assist with Costco’s recruiting process once it begins and will host employment workshops and job fairs before the store opens.
Available jobs will be posted online in early April at http://www.costco.com.
The JOB1 Mobile Unit will be used to help assist people with completing the online application.
Residents also can receive assistance with completing applications at the JOB1 Career Centers in New Orleans: 3400 Tulane Ave. in Mid-City and 3520 Gen. DeGaulle Drive, suite 1030, in Algiers.
