The woman called her boyfriend after three armed men and a woman burst into the home demanding drugs. Fortunato said when she couldn’t produce the narcotics; they forced her to call the victim.

Police were alerted to the incident by neighbors who heard the commotion, Fortunato said. Multiple deputies responded to the scene and were able to capture a man and woman near the home and another man a few blocks away. The fourth man was still being sought. Fortunato said the names of the suspects likely would not be released until Saturday.

The victim was shot in the “lower extremities,” and his wounds were not life-threatening, Fortunato said. The incident and the level of response from the Sheriff’s Office, shocked neighbors who were unused to that sort of activity.
