The charges
Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin faces 21 charges related to allegedly taking kickbacks from businessmen. He is accused of:
n Awarding contracts to businessman Frank Fradella in return for two granite deliveries for the Nagin family business, Stone Age LLC, as well as a total of $162,500 in payments.
n Awarding contracts to businessman Rodney Williams in return for $72,250 in kickbacks.
n Waiving tax penalties on a delinquent bill for “Businessman A” in return for travel to New York on the businessman’s private jet and for limousine service.
