De La Salle students join English Honor Society

Fifteen De La Salle High School students were honored by the National English Honor Society at a recent induction.

Four returning members received Certificates of Merit for their work during the past year. They are Margaret Fraizer and Taylor Tebbe, three years; and Alexes Aikena and Marisa Thomassie, two years.

New inductees include: senior Melanie Long; juniors Alec Bivona and Tiffany Joseph; and sophomores Phillip Clark, Storie Cook, Ashlyn Ecklund, Gabrielle Gonzalez, Caroline Robertson, Stephani Vidrine and Jesslyn Woodman.

Among the activities these students participated in are Shakespeare club, La Troupe play productions, District and State Literary Rally, the Speech Team, the Poetry Club, Le Journal Littéraire (the literary magazine), and the Maroon Legend (yearbook staff).

Several students had works published in one of two different poetry or essay competition books, and one earned a trip to Ireland for winning an essay contest.

Another student is a country music song writer and editor of their newsletter.
