Fun under way for JPAS gala

The first meeting of the Pasta and Puccini committee of the Jefferson Performing Arts Society was held by co-chairmen Kenner Mayor Michael Yenni and his wife, Michelle Swanner Yenni, at the Chateau Estates Country Club in Kenner.

Fifty volunteers were treated to a dinner for the kick-off organizational meeting. The new chairmen for the event are: administrative, Josephine Haas; decorations, Gloria Esthus and Nancy Keylon; hospitality, Brenda Chetta and Jolene Ryan; patron party, Shellie Ali and Faith Peperone; publicity, Ginger Crawford; raffle, Alice Cloutet; silent auction, Carrel Epling; and table sales, Jackie Elliott.

The Pasta and Puccini gala will be held Oct. 11. The annual event benefits the Jefferson Performing Arts Society. Eight tables out of 70 are already sold.
